Benefits of Fiberglass Pool Coatings
Fiberglass coatings are primarily used for resurfacing when beauty, durability and ease of maintenance are an issue, or the pool has structural damage.
The new Gunite structure in new pools is very rough and needs a triabable product such as plaster to smooth it out. A smooth surface is needed when using fiberglass as the waterproofing surface.
Fiberglass is the most durable alternative re-plastering. If they made plaster today like they did some years ago, they would not be a need for alternatives (government regulations). The fiberglass structural pool coating carries a 25-year limited warranty with an extended labor warranty available.
Fiberglass is a non-abrasive surface that has a slight texture created by the fiberglass mat that produces its structural strength.
Discoloration can occur on a fiberglass surface as well as it can on a plaster surface. The difference is the mineral staining is on the top of the non-porous fiberglass, not penetrated into a porous surface such as plaster. Discoloration can be removed from the fiberglass surface with chemicals and without draining the pool, while you watch!
Most customers, after comparing plaster to fiberglass, choose fiberglass for its longer lasting and easier maintenance surface.
Fiberglass Pool Coatings, Inc uses only company trained and certified fiberglass installers. Most pool remodelers cannot offer the fiberglass structural coatings because their surfacing is done by subcontractors, not qualified to properly install fiberglass.
Fiberglass Pool Coatings, Inc has been in business since January 1991, and can offer most all of the resurfacing systems used today, including fiberglass structural coatings, Sun Stone®, Diamond Brite®, Durazzo®, and both grades of white plaster.
Fiberglass structural coating with the stainless steel repair system is a must for cracked pools. These coatings carry a full, 2-year written crack repair warranty.
The proper care of a fiberglass coated pool is very easy but as important as the care of any other pool. Easy written instructions, plus a direct line to one of our techs who can answer any questions you may have will be provided upon completion of your resurfacing.
